Mark Yates emerges victorious in Rookies Round Robin!
Well another event is done and dusted....
16 players gathered at The Woolpack on Saturday to take part in the latest JD Pool Promotions competition, JD Rookies Round Robin!
Players were split into 4 groups of 4, and each played 3 matches against the others within their group. The two with the highest points progressed on to the quarter finals, where a single match loss would spell the end of the competition!

Races to 4 shortly started with Mark Yates knocking out Kristian Linnell, Luke Matthews beating Darryl Gibbs, Mark Maloney getting the better of Mitch Yates and Brad Membry coming out on top vs Cameron Hill.
It was then time for the finals, races to 5. Mark Y once again was tasked with playing Luke, where he was this time victorious after an earlier defeat in the group stages. Brad kept his cool and performed well to beat Mark M, and that left us with our finalists! Mark Yates and Brad Membry!
Mark quickly went 2-0 up, but Brad came back and made it level at 2-2! Nothing stopped mark from this moment on though, winning 4 back to back frames to scoop a 6-2 win and the £200 cash prize, leaving Brad to take the runner up prize of £90 cash.
A massive thank you to the Woolpack team for hosting us again, and to everyone that took part! I imagine there was a few sore heads the following morning 🤣
